I would rather have met Leonardo Da Vinci. Leonardo was a nice man, on the other hand, Michelangelo was a mean guy. Michelangelo's brilliance was recognized during his life hand. Leonardo Da Vinci was only partially recognized for his artwork during his life. His notebook was deciphered 150 years after his death. He made the first prototype of a plane 400 years before the Wright Brothers built the first plane. Leonardo also made the first prototype of a tank several hundred years before the actual tank was built. This shows how brilliant Leonardo Da Vinci was.

Michelangelo was always rude to Leonardo until the day Leonardo's painting melted off the wall when he was trying to use a Roman method which was supposedly supposed to heat the painting into the wall. That day, Michelangelo saw the true genius inside Leonardo, and at that point is when Michelangelo's apprentice made fun of Leonardo. Michelangelo got mad and said to his apprentice," he's greater artist than you'll ever be." This is when Michelangelo started to respect Leonardo.

The Black Death originated in China. From China, the disease spread to the Middle East. Traders from the Middle East came over to Italy. The rats the traders had with them were infected and bit people. When someone was bit, there would be a big buboe on their neck, armpit, or groin. Usually, someone who was infected by the bubonic plague would die within a week. There is another deadly form of the Black Plague which would kill someone within a day. This form of the Bubonic Plague would spread in less than a day. It is also the most deadly for of the Black Plague. Scientists believe that the Black Plague was a combination of many diseases and viruses.

Today, we have simple medicines that can cure the Black Plague. Back then, they tried stuff like bloodletting. Bloodletting is when you cut yourself and blood comes out. They believed that if they did this they would be saved from the Black Plague. Remember those shots you used to take when you were about 6. That shot you took a few years ago could have saved about one-third to about two-third of Europe's population! About 25 million people in Europe died. This may not seem like a lot, but think of it this way. Every third kid in your classroom died. That would be devastating, and it was very devastating to Europe's population. The Black Plague did change Europe's society. Feudalism fell apart because there weren't very many peasants at the manor, and these peasants demanded money. When these peasants acquired money, these peasants left the manor and went to live in cities. This is a positive affect of the Black Plague.

Knowing myself, I would not have joined the Crusades knowing that death awaits me and that I will most likely die in battle. I for one would try to get into Heaven by volunteering and helping the church and by trying to do the right thing at all times. But if I would have, I would not be on the frontlines. Instead, I would be somewhere towards the middle and front so I could attack the others to take back the Holy Land from the Muslims. To join this war, I feel very reluctant, but the only good thing that would come from this is that I get guaranteed acceptance into Heaven which would set me up perfectly for whatever Christians believe happened after they die.

If I didn't have to, I would have joined this war. God does not will that we kill one another in his name. God wishes us to treat each other fairly. We should not be fighting over the Pope wanting to gain some land.

My parents have asked me if I am okay with marrying someone I don't know for the goodness of his kingdom. I haven't even met who I am possibly to wed, and I am only 13! Why couldn't it be someone else like one of my 3 older brothers who aren't married yet. Why me? What am I to do. If I decline, there could possibly be a war. I must decide soon for my father's rule is at hand. Who am I to wed, and my father knows I am only 13.

Why would he ever put in a situation like this, after all; I have 3 older brothers. According to my father, they are a powerful noble family. To decline to them is a definite war. I have made my decision, I will accept this marriage. I must tell my father at once to protect his kingdom.

I am stuck following Bear who I have swore an oath to. Now if I try to run or even disobey him, I will be struck down by God and I will go to Hell. Why did I look in the church, if it wasn't for him, I would be well on my way of getting my liberties, and I would have been free. I left one master to join another master. I can't wait to get to the city where I may be able to gain my liberties, but if I gain my liberties, where will I get food from. At least Bear will feed me. No one will feed me in the city, but Father Quinel probably new of this so why did he send me. So much I need to know. How can Bear read and write English if he is a juggler.

He is hiding something from me just like my mother did. Father Quinel was going to tell me who my father was, but Aycliffe killed him, and Bear also said that I have a noble name, Crispin. Why did John Aycliffe try to kill me when I saw, and what was the man in the robes talking to Aycliffe about. They had said that Lord Furnival was not okay, and he may die soon, but what does this have to do with me.

What is that smell? Oh great Jesus, don't let that smell be the Vikings. We are the only village in all of Europe that hasn't been attacked by the Vikings. I must hurry to the village to confirm my fears. Why Jesus, why are you letting this happen to my family. I must go to my family to make sure that they are all right, and nothing has happened to them. Cursed Vikings, we were the only village in all of Europe that hadn't been attacked. I should've known that we were going to be attacked next! Where is my family? Where! They must be here somewhere. Oh no they were in the house when I left for the fields.

No, they are dead. There is nothing we can do know besides do their rites and hope that they get into Heaven. I hope I will see them one day. Emma and Victoria were to young to die. Why Jesus, why?

Charlemagne in latin means "Charles The Great". Charlemagne was the second king of Europe. His kingdom rivaled the old Western Roman Empire. He was such a great king that the pope wanted to crown Charlemagne. He ruled for a total of 46 years, and died when he was 71 on January 28, 814. He was a very tall guy and is said to have been about 6' 4" which is 6 feet and 4 inches tall. That is tall, and he is said to have been a really strong and buff guy. The funny thing is that in all biographies written on Charlemagne say that he had a really high-pitched voice.

His empire was the largest empire after the Western Roman Empire
.Kings that ruled after him did not do a very good job, and were very weak rulers. Over time, the empire started to fall apart by kings who were not fit to rule and were weak rulers. This lead to the fall of the Frankish Empire.

My New Year's resolution was to receive a 4.00 again for this semester, by doing this I would have had a 4.00 for an entire year. I asked Mrs.Baird about how many kids get a 4.00 each year. She said about 10-12 7th graders get a 4.00 each year. When I heard this; I was shocked. I thought Mrs.Baird was pulling my leg. I thought that since the first semester is so easy, the rest of the year was also going to be easy. A passed the first quarter with a 4.00. Half way through the second quarter, I realized that maintaining a 4.00 is hard to do, but easy to say.

I think that maintaining a 4.00 is going to be easier this year since I don't have art this semester. Art is the subject that I struggled most with. I am honestly not very artistic. If you can't tell yet, art is my best subject. I was so happy since I learned the fact that I am going to be in Science Workshop ( also know as rocketry) which I have heard is really fun.

I am looking forward to no more art when I come back to school for the second semester. I really don't like art. I am right brained, and if you want to be very good at art, you should be left brained. Right brained people are usually very serious and think very probably. For example, if you are teaching a class, and you tell your students to draw a tree. If the student drew a real or realistic tree, he is right brained. If the student drew a purple or colorful tree, chances are they are left brained.
I am right brained. If my art teacher told me to draw a tree, I would try to make a tree which real or very realistic. I would not color it purple. I like to be very probable. I can't wait for science workshop (also called rocketry). In it, we will build rockets.

I think that the most important thing the Japanese borrowed from the Chinese is religion. For example, Japan borrowed Buddhism from China. Buddhism is meant to be peaceful. If you look at the Japanese, they have nature painted over fans and doors. Forms of Buddhism were invented so that peasants can also be good Buddhist. For example, a peasant man who works in the fields does not have time to meditate. So, people invented Pure Land Buddhism, so peasants can reach enlightenment by chanting Buddha's name in the fields.
