To determine an old unfossilized bone, I would use the Carbon-14 method. If the fossil was very old, it would be fossilized, but it isn't so that quickly eliminates the Uranium-Lead method and it also eliminates the Potassium-Argon method as well. If the fossil was old enough to use the Potassium-Argon method, it would have been at least 1.3 billion years ago. I know that there were only single celled and multicellular organisms that point of time so Potassium-Argon is eliminated.

The half-life of radioactive Uranium is 4.5 billion years. The oldest rock on Earth dates back to 3.5 billion years ago when the Earth was finally cool enough. The Uranium-Lead would only be used for asteroids or objects in space. Even if the bone dated was 1.3 billion years old, chances are it would have most likely been destroyed since it is not preserved.

Charles Darwin is one of the founding fathers of evolution. Charles Darwin went the Galapagos islands off the coast of Soth America. Charles Darwin observed that the finches on the Galapagos islands were very similar to the finches on South America. The only major difference were there beaks. The Galapagos islands are made up of many islands which have different resources. The finches on these different islands have adapted to their environment and are different from the other finches on the other islands. One of these adaptations was a large beak which was used to crack things. Islands that did not have resources like almonds for example which have shells did not have finches like these.

Finches on different islands were no longer able to interbreed which means they became their own species and reproduce among themselves. Wallace helped Charles Darwin determine that if a trait helps an animal survive and that trait is passed on. If a finch with a mutation was able to survive on the Galapagos Islands, that mutation would be passed onto future generations and it is dominant and eventually a new species may occur.

The Grand Canyon is made of many layers of sediments. If you look at a photo of the Grand Canyon, there are many thin layers of sediments that make up the Grand Canyon. Also, according to Superposition, the older layers are on the bottom, and the newer layers are on top. Also, In the Grand Canyon there are also places which demonstrate cross-cutting. There are also intrusions in the Grand Canyon which interfere with the building of layers. According to the pictures of the Grand Canyon I have seen, all the sediment layers are flat and straight, but I assure you there are also areas which have intruded by molten lava. Cross-cutting can cause certain areas of the Grand Canyon to be higher than the next like stair steps.

In England, 99% of the moths were white before the start of the industrial age. After the Industrial Age began, there was a high increase in pollution which lead to the trees of England. Along with this, there was a genetic variation among a peppered moth which caused it to be black. This peppered moth survived, while the other peppered moths were killed and eaten by birds. This black peppered moth survived and reproduce. Since the black peppered moths were fit to survive, when they reproduced, their larvae were also black which led to them surviving while the other white moths died out. Before the Industrial Age, 99% of the moths were white, and 1% of moths were black. Now 99% of the moths are black, and 1% of moths are white and this is due to the Industrial Age.

In Overpopulation, only the most successful survive and reproduce. Think of it this way. There are 100 people, and there are 60 pounds of salt, and each of those people need 1 pound of salt. Not everybody is going to get salt. 40 people are not going to get salt, and they will die. The other 60, will be able to survive and will reproduce. Note the fact that these people had something that the other 40 didn't. Maybe the 40 people were to short. That way, the short people died, and there are only the 60 tall people. The children of those 60 people may have another necessity that is needed to live such as a phone. Not all of the kids are going to have phones, so the ones that don't will die. This will leave us with kids who have cell phones.

This is what happens when Overpopulation. Theoretically speaking, if people are not able to survive on other planets anytime soon, the population will exceed the amount of resources we have, and humans will start to die out, and we will evolve. Our adaptation may be smaller stomach so we eat less. I have no idea what it will be. We may turn into dolphins if sea level continues to rise.

Punnett Squares can be used to determine your parent's phenotypes by observing your and your parent's phenotypes. Phenotypes can be used to determine what kind of genes your daughter and son will. If the mom is blond, and the dad is blond, both children will have blond hair. If the mom is blond, and the male is not blond and his family members are not blond then there is a hundred percent chance of the children being dark-haired.

In genetics, there are two kinds of traits, dominant trait and recessive trait. If there is at least one dominant allele which is capitalized in each square, the child will have a dominant trait. A dominant trait is more likely to happen than a recessive trait. A recessive trait is less likely to occur, and when it does occur; it happens under certain circumstances.

I am not exactly sure about our puppet show for science. I am not even sure what we are supposed to do. The weird thing is that I am about 5' 10", and the kid next to me is probably somewhere around 5'0". I ended up with the second worse and smallest animal. Guess what this animal is? It urinates when it gets scared. It is a type of beetle; can you guess what it is. I bet you can't so I might as well tell you. It is a ladybug. The kid who sits next to me got a moose which is massive. The kid who sits in front of me got a green sea-turtle, and the girl who sit across from me got a beaver.

Overall in the classroom; I got the second worst animal. The worst animal was a dung beetle that eats poop. That actually made me feel a lot better because I no longer had the worst animal, and that there was someone with a worst animal than me. There were many people upset about what animal they get. There were very few people who were happy about what animal they got.

The hardest science concept for me was DNA. There was, so much DNA nonsense. Mr.Kirste taught us about the types of RNA. There is mRNA and tRNA. mRNA is messenger RNA. tRNA is transfer RNA. There is also amino acids and codons. I understand that, I also understood the Punnett Squares we did. There is no simple way to remember what mRNA and tRNA. All I can remember is that mRNA goes out of the nucleus, and that it is only one side of a regular DNA. I also remember they do not Thymine; instead they have Uracil has a pair. For every 3 pairs matched, that makes one codon.

I have no clue what tRNA does. I feel totally clueless since we are going to have a CST on science, and chances are that tRNA and mRNA are going to be on it. I want to get a six hundred on my science CST just like I did in the 5th grade. That was a hard accomplishment.

There is a round estimate of 2.2 billion kids in this world according to globalissues, and according to hellemanworld.blogspot about 39% people in this world are Christians. This means that there are 858 million Christian kids in this world. Theoretically speaking, Santa would travel east to west, so he has 31 hours to distribute presents. This means he has 1860 hours or 6696000 seconds to deliver presents to kids. Let's say four kids live in a house. This means there are about 83,650,000 houses. We are going to assume that there is at least 1 good Christian kid in the house. After all, aren't Christians supposed to be good? Santa must be able to go to 12 1/2 houses in one second. Theoretically speaking, that is impossible. He will have to get out of his sleigh, grab the presents, go down the chimney, place the presents, and eat the cookies all in .08 seconds. That is impossible.
I do not believe that Santa exists, but I do like the idea of Santa existing. If kids believe that Santa exists, they will not mess around and be rude to one another; instead, they will be very nice and polite. It is a cycle if little kids believe in Santa. They will be nice, they get presents. If they are mean and rude, they won't get presents.

The first phase in DNA replication is interphase. During interphase nothing is happening. The cell is getting ready to start to replicate. The second stage is prophase, during prophase DNA copies itself. The phase after that is metaphase. During metaphase, the DNA is lined up and is getting ready to split apart. The next phase is anaphase. During anaphase the DNA is split up, and now the two new nuclei began to form. The two cells begin too pinch inwards to split apart. Now mitosis is complete.
